GASP has legally changed their name to GASP: Guardians Advocating Child Safety and Protection. GASP made the name change since we are constantly adding more programs to help protect our children. Our focus is to educate and prevent our children from dangerous situations, sex offenses, abuse and abduction. GASP will continue to provide programs and educate our families on sex offenses and predators, but we have expanded our programs and events to include information on general child safety such as bullying, Internet safety, "sexting", cyber bullying, gun safety, and much, much more!

GASP How It All Began
“The nine-year-old girl was forcefully abducted from her Grandmother’s home by a repeat sex offender.
My initial reaction was a mixture of repulsion and helplessness.
Even an Amber Alert failed to find her in time; she was kidnapped, raped and buried alive. 'How could this have happened?’ I thought. My heart went out to the father of the dead girl.
One year later, I was still thinking about her, so I picked up the phone and called him. I had no agenda... I just needed him to know that I was hurting for him. After our conversation, my feelings of disgust were replaced with a deep, burning anger. There was no way I would sit idly by without trying to do something.
Turning to God, I asked for direction. Soon, it was revealed to me that I was to use my experience, resources and contacts to help find abducted/missing children... before it is too late.
This mission is no longer mine alone. Stop reading, close your eyes, remain quiet and listen for a calling. If you feel something stirring from within you, please contact us to see how you can help.”

Our Mission Statement:
GASP is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a safer environment for children by delivering safety programs to protect them from dangerous situations, sex offenses, abuse and abductions.
Our Goals:
We are a network of caring volunteers who:
- Are a civilian arm of law enforcement that has been trained by the Sheriff’s Office to provide “extra eyes and ears” in finding missing and/or abducted children (including Amber Alert situations).
- Educate the community with programs to improve sexual-abuse awareness and prevention, including Internet safety.
- Protect children through various programs (such as identification kits).
